Lensa
Imagine turning a simple moment into something extraordinary. That moment takes on a new meaning and becomes something far beyond what you initially visualize. With Lensa, you upload a few of your selfies or portraits and artificial intelligence generates completely new and unique imagery based on the details of the photos you transmit.
Now, I feel insane for generating as many images as I did and will continue to generate on this app, but I’m doing it for my future self…Literally and figuratively speaking. I feel that my self-portrait process will never be the same… I’m experiencing nirvana. My mind is blown.
Some of the portraits I received make me feel like I could be a character in my favorite futuristic Netflix anthology, Love, Death x Robots. I imagine the character design process for each short episode is much more extensive than this, but I’m still impressed nonetheless.
After a few photo uploads, I noticed that just like in a real-life photoshoot, lighting, environment, fashion, accessories, hair, and makeup can make or break the image. Keeping these aspects in mind and even though the image characteristics generated are random, I’m interested to see what other kinds of images I can create with Lensa AI going forward.
Lensa also has a feature where you can do color corrections, but for these edits, I decided to stick with my trusted photo editor, VSCO. There were a few color schemes that were a little too pink, or the skin tone needed more melanin, so I made some adjustments in VSCO.
Artist Mention
I was first introduced to artificial intelligence back in college by African American digital artist, Professor Nettrice Gaskins. She was the first person to open my mind to the idea of digital worlds and is just one example of an artist that uses AI to create content. Her work with Midjourney text prompts are inspiring to say the least, and I’m honored to have an image of myself made by her. See the image here
