Ryan Easter
From the moment I first heard Ryan’s music, I knew that I wanted to capture his talent and passion through my lens. I'm always looking for new and exciting projects to undertake, and my recent photoshoot with trumpet player Ryan Easter was no exception.
Drawing inspiration from iconic portraits of jazz legends like Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, I worked closely with Ryan to create a photoshoot that would showcase his unique musical style and personality.
To achieve the look and feel that we were going for, I drew on the photographic styles of Irving Penn and Philippe Gras. Both photographers were known for their striking black-and-white portraits of celebrities and musicians, and I wanted to pay homage to their work by incorporating similar elements into my photoshoot with Ryan. I was inspired by the way these photographers use light and shadow to create dramatic and captivating images, and I felt that their techniques would be perfect for capturing Ryan's energy and intensity.
All in all, working with Ryan was a fantastic experience. Not only is he an incredibly talented musician, but he's always a pleasure to be around. We were able to collaborate on a photoshoot that we both felt really captured the essence of his music and his personality, and I'm excited to see where his career takes him next.
